Cambium Sustainable Newsletter - Summer 2023

Well that's another school year over! We'd love to know your Forest School highlights, wins and challenges from this academic year. Keep tagging us on your socials so we can share them for you. If you'd like to chat to us in detail about anything related to Forest School training, then please let us know and we'll get in touch with you.

Thanks, enjoy reading!

Practical skills - using loppers

Director of Cambium, Sam, shows us how to use loppers - with one of his Forest School Skills videos - Using Loppers. Our Practical skills video library can be viewed by anyone on our YouTube channel.

More resources are available for trainers who become part of the Cambium Associate Trainers network.

Events & festivals

Since our last newsletter in May, we've facilitated forest school play at the Hereford Happening, 'Literary' Hay Festival and Russel & Laura Brand's Community festival. We have Starry Skies , Greenman and River Carnival coming up for during July and August this year!

We couldn't make Teach Outdoors' Outdoor Learning Conference in June, however if you were there you may have chatted to Cambium Associate Trainers from Muddy Feet. However, we'll be at the Forest School Association Conference at the end of September so look forward to seeing you if you're attending.

Online training

In addition to the FREE 'what is Forest School' training we offer on our website, we also have two other online courses for under £50! Play at Forest School - discover why this sometimes overlooked aspect of children's development is so crucial to health, wellbeing and development and Risky Play at Forest School - explore why children are naturally drawn to risky behaviours!

In March 2023, Lisa carried out Forest School Leader level 3 training with a Cambium Sustainable Associate Training and as a result its spurred her on to embark on a Masters Degree. We love hearing feedback like this!

"after your sessions, I enrolled onto Open University and begin my Masters Degree in Psychology in September. Thank you for re-lighting my interest in life and theory work again."

If you are looking into getting into Forest School, or already volunteer/work in a Forest School environment and want to know more then our online short courses are a great way to learn more. Or, if you're looking to join the Cambium network then we offer a quick-switch process which includes a full induction to Cambium’s approach, processes and support materials.
