Coordinating an Outdoor Curriculum. Level 3

Coordinating an Outdoor Curriculum is a 5-day qualification designed for those who would like to further their Outdoor Learning skills and make this unique approach accessible to all by successfully embedding Curriculum Based Outdoor Learning and other approaches in their organisation. This course looks at the management and coordination of all types of Outdoor Learning.

Course duration – 5 days of training, plus development of a portfolio of evidence. The course must be completed within nine months of the start date.

This course can be completed as a top-up if you are a qualified Forest School or Coastal School Leader. Contact us for more details.


Content Summary:

Learning the background of the educational practice of modern Outdoor Learning, including a review of research and practice in recent years.

Auditing existing provision and practice, creating procedures and best practice guidelines for making outdoor learning part of a whole school educational strategy.

Site planning and sustainable management of your own grounds.

Planning year round programmes of Outdoor Learning.

Building on Outdoor Learning Skills.


Entry Qualifications Required:

Level 2 qualification or appropriate experience in education, youth work, childcare etc.

Established link with a client group and at least two years experience with client groups.

18 years or over at the start of the course.

First Aid Qualification and DBS strongly advised.
