School Grounds Consultation

Well designed and maintained school grounds can offer a wonderful additional resource  to the teaching and learning strategies offered by your school.  Many schools do not make the most of the opportunities offered by their grounds – just imagine what a vegetable garden, mini woodland, wildlife area or natural play ground could add in terms of the delivery of the curriculum and the ‘softer’ life long learning skills in your setting.

With a background in commercial and amenity horticulture, teaching, training, landscape design and education, Cambium is well placed to give advice and consultation on the best way to use the potential of your school grounds.

We can work with your school as a one off event to help you to design and implement changes in your grounds, enabling these to be a better resource for curriculum delivery and play.  Or we can work with staff & children over the course of a year to enable you to develop an area of your grounds culminating in a celebration of our achievement.  Areas that are readily developed in this way include:-

Mini Woodlands              Ponds / bog gardens      Vegetable gardens         Orchards

Have a free  consultation about your grounds with one of our staff members by phoning or e mailing  us.

We can also offer INSET training aimed at enabling every member of staff to get ‘on board’ and use your outdoor environment in the best possible way.
