Anney Thornton Wood

Freelance trainer and horticulturalist



Anney started out in woodlands, market gardening and smallholding before gaining a BSc & PGCE and lecturing  in landbased studies.  She went on to set up Cambium - a successful landscaping and training business in 2000.  Anney completed her Forest School Award in 2003 working with Llwynu Infants School and Monmouthshire Surestart and since then has regularly been in involved in devising and running Forest School Programmes, recently working with FC England and Wye Valley AONB to deliver the Herefordshire Forest School Pilot Project.

Anney started working with the Forestry Commission to deliver Forest School training in November 2004 and acted as producer for the Forest School in Wales DVD in 2007.  She has recently been involved in delivering educational sessions with children throughout South Wales with the Woodland Trust as part of the Tree for All Project as well as continuing to deliver Forest School Training at all levels throughout Wales and the Border counties. 

Cambium has recently been appointed to deliver a DCELLS Welsh Assembly Government Forest School Training the Trainer project in South Wales working with FEI.  Anney has also been working with Warwickshire Wildlife Trust to mentor two ‘apprentice’ Forest School Trainers.
   
 

Sarah Jones

With a background in Primary teaching, youth and community work and training, Sarah qualified as a Forest Schools practitioner in 2007. She now works as a freelance Forest Schools Practitioner and has worked with Early Years, Key Stage 1, 2 and 3 in schools, and outdoor education settings.

Sarah also works as a part-time activities warden for Monmoutshire Countryside Services, and has been delivering First Aid training for the past 12 years.

Sarah has been working with Cambium delivering all levels of Forest Schools Training since 2008.

Miranda Thomason


Miranda has a background in Arts Education outdoors, and has worked with several community projects with Arts Alive, in and around Monmouthshire.

She trained with Cambium under a Welsh Assembly Government mentoring scheme, completing in 2009, and has worked with several training oranisations to deliver Forest Schools training.

Miranda is a guest lecturer on Cambium training courses.

Tamsin Young

Tamsin has a background in arts and performance, including theatre and circus skills. She completed her Forest Schools Practitioners award in 2008, and has been working since as a freelance Environmental Educationist.

Tamsin has been assisting in delivering Forest School Training with Cambium during 2010


Sam Goddard

Sam has a background in childcare, particularly with pre-school children, and runs his own nursery in Herefordshire.

He has been working with Kington School delivering Forest School training to Key Stages 1 and 2.

Sam completed his Forest School Practioner training in 2009, and has been working with Cambium throughout 2010 to assist Forest Schools Training.
