From 2012 we have been able to offer a new Accredited Training for Outdoor Learning – both our new courses have now been piloted and have quickly become popular with educational professionals wanting to expand their knowledge and confidence in delivering the curriculum in local outdoor spaces as well as improving their own skills in how to improve their local green environments for learning and biodiversity.
Outdoor Learning Practitioner (L2) – focuses on developing practical hands-on skills & a bank of activities, building confidence and ability in using the outdoor environments, learning how to manage and improve these for teaching & learning
Outdoor Learning Coordinator (L3) – this course follows on from the L2 and looks at the context behind outdoor learning, how to embed this as a whole school strategy, how to plan for an all year round programme of outdoor learning and how to cascade knowledge and enthuse others to get outside the classroom.
To find out more about course content & further information on these and similar topics visit www.outdoorschools.co.uk
We offer a range of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses aimed at giving ideas and activities for delivering the curriculum out of doors – please see the course dates page for further info on these
We also run training and events with the following partners: Woodland Trust, Royal Horticultural Society – Campaign for School Gardening, Growing the Future, National Botanic Gardens of Wales, Federation of City Farms and Gardens
